About Us
Our Family’s Journey
Mother had Alzheimer’s Disease. It was diagnosed when she was only 55. She lived with it—we all lived with it—for 20 years. Mother died when she was 75, but the disease took her from us long before that.
Dad suffered from the demands of caregiving over such a long period of time, and multiple health issues, including cancer. Life was very difficult for him.
Caregiving, chronic disease, long-term care and frequent interactions with the healthcare community were part of our lives for almost 30 years.

Hello! I am Linda Mauger, creator of the Pathway Greetings collection and caregiver for my parents for almost 30 years.
I’ve spent considerable time advocating for my parents in the long-term care setting and through multiple layers of the healthcare system. It’s true, “you learn by doing." And it’s true that the voices of older adults and their caregivers are complex, important, and sometimes unheard.
I have also been fortunate to serve as the Program Manager and now the Program Director for the Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology at The Ohio State University for the last 18 years, providing aging education and outreach to current and future social service, healthcare and long-term care providers. We have worked diligently to train students to provide person-centered care, and to hear and respond to the voices of patients/clients and their caregivers.
And so, Pathway Greetings is a collection of communication tools that reflect my years of caring and concern for older adults. I have personally developed each item, with the hope that you will find them useful in your role as a care provider.
Additionally, I have committed to donate a portion of the profits of Pathway Greetings to Alzheimer’s disease research to help find a cure for this devastating disease. I hope you will assist me in this effort.
P.S. The greeting card photography is a family affair — many thanks to Steve, Lauren and Todd!
